Happiness!

"Give me a recipe for happiness" , a teacher of mine wrote on facebook the other day. It made me think, "WHAT IS HAPPINESS?!". To me, happiness is everywhere. Every beautiful thing I lay eyes on makes me happy. I feel the thrill & joy everywhere. Every morning the sun comes crawling upon my skin to wake me up.. Every night the moon glows to light up my porch.. I feel I'm blessed & as so I am HAPPY! I look at my little pink towel that is embroidered with flowers & butterflies, I think it's so beautiful & it makes me happy! I look at my home that is nothing close to being perfect but I love it because at least I have a shelter, a roof above my head.. so many people don't! Happiness is when I smile at a homeless kid & pat on his shoulder, watching him smile back at me & realizing for the very first time that he isn't invisible! Happiness is when I rush to help an old man to carry his groceries & hearing him praying for me! Happiness is when I wake up in the morning not knowing what would I do today but still grateful that I am alive & willing to do anything I want. But to me the ultimate form of happiness is when I pray in the arms of Allah. When I know that Allah is listening to me, listening to my complaints & appreciating my tears. Happiness is when Allah answers my prayers. It is when Allah assures me that everything will be okay all I have to do is rely on Him. So, there is no recipe for happiness because it is everywhere we look! We usually look for a recipe to start from the parts to reach the whole. In other words we combine ingredients to produce a meal that is not currently existing. However with happiness it is different! IT ALREADY EXISTS! We don't need to combine anything to form "Happiness". All we really have to do is open our eyes & embrace the world.. let everything fall in its own place! It's a pattern.. everything has a place where it belongs & no one can change that. Stop asking "what is happiness?" , "where can I find happiness?" , because at the end of the day happiness lies within us solely! It is where our soul blossom. Happiness is in our hearts, just unleash it & you will see the difference in your life.
